"Safe Summer Kickoff"

at the Boston Harbor Shipyard Marina in East Boston with

the Northeast Charterboat Captains Association

 Annual Fundraiser 2008

 This year, over 75 youths were treated to a half day of fishing in the harbor, followed by a cookout, anti-drug, alcohol and violence lectures. We also had prizes for biggest fish etc.

This year our event was on Wednesday June 25, 2008. Here is a brief schedule:
Participants arrive from community centers throughout the city at 8:30AM
 
  • 8:30AM participants check in assigned boat number.
  • 8:40AM-8:50AM participants briefed on safety and Captains rules
  • 8:55AM boats depart for fishing
  • 1:00PM boats return, cookout commences.
  • 1:30PM Mayor Menino remarks.
  • 1:40-2:20 Awards, prizes and lectures.
  • wrap up event at 2:30PM

Thanks to every one who attended and made this event a success. Your support helped keep under-privileged kids off the streets this summer!  This fun-filled family event featured something for everyone.  $20.00 Admission included food, games, raffles, prizes and this incredible concert.
